Do you specialize in working with any particular type of client?
We work with clients of all kinds-individuals, families, corporations. However, we have specialized knowledge in working with business owners and professionals, particularly those who sponsor qualified retirement plans.
What makes Rogue Advisors LLC different from other financial advisors or consultants?
(1) Independence-we have no other commitments than to help you succeed
(2) Fiduciary Oath & Philosophy-a binding promise to be your advocate foremost
(3) Efficiency of our business model-managing investment risk and expenses are our first concerns
Do you take custody of my money or securities?
No, Rogue Advisors LLC does not take custody of client assets or cash. We work with select custodians and trust companies to provide custodial, clearing and execution services. The only funds we receive are from clients for management fees that we earn.
Isn't it "safer" to work with a national brokerage firm rather than a firm such as yours?
Rogue Advisors LLC provides the same level of sophistication and safeguards as the big guys,
but without the conflicts of interest that are widespread in the financial industry.
Rogue Advisors LLC is registered as an Investment Advisor firm under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940
and is under the jurisdiction of the Oregon State Division of Finance & Corporate Securities.
Who controls my money?
You do. You are giving limited discretionary control to Rogue Advisors LLC to manage your
portfolio per your Investment Policy Statement. We perform the tasks you allow us to do, such as transacting
trades on your behalf and receiving duplicate statements.
What types of investments or securities do you advise clients about?
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds and cash equivalents like CDs and Treasuries.
We primarily use Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), closed-end mutual funds and some no-load, actively
managed mutual funds. We design and implement customized investment portfolios, which we call Model
Portfolios or Model Folios.
What are your fees and how do they compare to other types of firms?
We charge fees for the advice and management that we provide clients-not for transactions.
There are a couple types of fees that we may charge and the situation determines the most appropriate method.
Project or hourly based fees are generally used for planning or consulting services. An asset-based fee is generally
used for investment management services, and this is calculated as a percent of assets under management and is billed
quarterly in arrears.
Your agreement with Rogue Advisors LLC is at will and you have the freedom to discontinue our relationship at any time.
We charge no exit fees.
Do you provide legal services or tax preparation?
No. However, we prefer to work alongside your other advisors to deliver the most comprehensive advice.
The team approach works best. We initiate these relationships only with your permission.
What type of advice do you provide clients?
Financial planning and investment management and education.
I am worried about privacy and confidentiality. What can I expect from you?
We do not share any personal, private, or non-public information with anyone except as required by law.
Our recommended custodians and technology partners are equally committed to maintaining this confidentiality.
Do you work with clients out of state?
Yes. We can serve clients throughout Oregon and across the country.
You're welcome to recommend your friends and family wherever they may live.
How do I get started?
We begin by establishing your concerns, goals
and timeline, and we mutually decide if our services
are a good match. This initial meeting is offered
at no cost, or obligation by you, and can be made
by a method and time convenient to you. Give us a
call, email, fax, or perhaps you are nearby and we
could arrange to meet at our office or yours, maybe
a favorite coffee house.
Appointments are scheduled based on availability and during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
We want to be accessible to our clients so we are flexible to accommodate special needs or emergency situations as needed.
